It is widely believed that Sri Lanka has slipped back towards a full-fledged civil war. ومن المعتقد على نطاق واسع ان سرى لانكا قد انحدر الى الوراء نحو كامل الحرب الاهليه. Currently there are few indications of a politically substainable solution to the ethnic solution in Sri Lanka. حاليا هناك عدد قليل من مؤشرات على وجود حل سياسي substainable الى حل الاثنيه في سري لانكا. On the contrary, an environment conductive to violent clashes has been developing. على العكس من ذلك ، بيئة موصل الى صدامات عنيفة قد الناميه. It seems that the country has entered a full fledged war. ويبدو ان البلاد دخلت في حرب شاملة كاملة.

The latest military operations over Mavilaru dispute last year had led experts to believe that a war is already on. اخر العمليات العسكرية على مدى mavilaru النزاع في العام الماضي قد ادى الخبراء الى الاعتقاد بأن الحرب هي بالفعل. A ceasefire existed in paper but in practice, there seemed to have been no ceasefire agreement. وقف اطلاق النار موجودة في ورقة ولكن في الممارسه العملية ، هناك على ما يبدو لم تحدث اي اتفاق لوقف اطلاق النار.

The activities of Sri Lankan government and the LTTE since December 2006 indicate a gradual progression towards war. انشطه الحكومة السريلانكيه وجبهة نمور تحرير تاميل ايلام منذ كانون الاول / ديسمبر 2006 تشير الى التقدم التدريجي نحو الحرب. The senor leaders of the LTTE had hinted at the possibilities of war in near future. Senor فان قادة جبهة نمور تحرير تاميل ايلام قد المح في احتمالات الحرب فى المستقبل القريب.

The government on the other hand, preferred military operations against the LTTE, as it believes this approach would help strengthen its hand politically. حكومة ومن ناحية اخرى ، يفضل عمليات عسكرية ضد نمور تحرير تاميل ايلام ، لأنها تعتقد أن هذا النهج من شأنه ان يساعد في تعزيز يده سياسيا. The perception of the LTTE is that the present context in the south would not lead to a fair solution based on self determination. تصور جبهة نمور تحرير تاميل ايلام ان السياق الحالي في الجنوب لن يؤدي الى حل عادل على أساس تقرير المصير.
