It is quite an irony that the world we live in has forgotten the word appreciation, things most especially people are taken for granted.
There's an African adage that says, "When you don't know how to think, you won't know how to thank". The world maybe big but there are no little things. When people do us a good turn, the best way to make their sacrifice worthwile is to be grateful as they are priviliges bestowed on us and not fundamental human rights.
One of the greatest offences on earth is that of ingratitude, it is more than armed robbery, worse than murder and more grievous than drug trafficking. When we aren't grateful for a deed done to us, we are simply saying that we are not worth the deed that has been done to us.
I was in a bus going to work, when a man paid for his female friend on disovering she was in the bus rather than she show gratitude for the favour shown to her, she commented to her friend,'Somebody paid for me,what I can't do for someone else'. It's as bad as that if not worse.
People have said 'You don't know the worth of what you've got till when it is gone'. Gratitude may look so minute but I assure you if you make use of it, it'll open up doors permanently. The more you are grateful, the more people will want to grant you favours because no person is so admired like a grateful person. Try this out and you'll see the wonders it will work.
