THE NEW KERCIHO BUS PARK IN KENYA LOOKS LIKE A KIDS PLAY

The Kericho municipal bus park which has been undergoing reconstruction for more than two years now is ready but it is taking too long to open it .Work on the park was finished last year, four months before the country’s general elections and it was expect that its opening would be early this year but we are already halfway the year but no one in the town hall seems to notice that the bus park has not been opened yet.

However the construction works on the park didn’t reach the expected standards .Most residents of Kericho town expected big things than what the contractor provided .people expected something of the metropolitan standards ,perhaps with computers and other latest technologies that help in the control of the flow of traffic and all that which goes with that in the market .Instead ,there was only a little scratching of the ground and the use of concrete instead of the normal tar otherwise there wasn’t anything much about the news bus park .

The travelers booking offices are like the porridge selling kiosks in the rural areas and the shades which are supposed to provide shelter for travelers when it is raining or when the sun is too hot are too small to accommodate five people each ,there’s no any kind of shelter for the travelers when it rains or when the sun becomes too hot apart form that which we have just mentioned .It is as if the people who were involved in the reconstruction of the bus park didn’t have even a hint of what we mean by the country’s development.

The place, sincerely speaking, looks like a kids play and there’s nothing to be proud of about it and they can not blame it on money because the people of this town had been paying their taxes always .The mayor shouldn’t have rushed to it that way if he knew that the council didn’t have enough money, he should have prepared well and built something better than what we had before, the place was far much better than what it is now.
